Bitewing Radiography (BW)

Bitewing is one of the intraoral radiographs that has several applications, including:

• Periodic examinations of all people, even when no clinical caries is seen during the examination (in people at high risk of caries every 6 months, people at medium risk once every year, people at low risk every 2 years)
• Diagnosis of proximal caries (if no clinical manifestations)
• Diagnosis of secondary caries under fillings not seen on periapical radiographs
